Canonical supports Microsoft Azure Cobalt 100 VMs

Canonical is pleased to announce that Ubuntu and Ubuntu Pro support the newly-launched Microsoft Azure Cobalt 100 VMs. Over 95% of packages in the Ubuntu archive also work on Arm, making it the perfect choice to leverage these powerful and high-performance cloud environments for a wide array of applications. Ubuntu Pro extends Ubuntu with additional security coverage, letting you use that expanded range of packages while still meeting your security and compliance requirements.

Designed for diverse workloads

The Azure Cobalt 100 VMs are ideal for a variety of demanding workloads such as application servers, machine learning platforms, open-source databases, in-memory caches, and cloud-native applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Additionally, these VMs are well-suited for Anbox Cloud,
