This demonstration will showcase EVerest, an open source software framework that enables seamless communication between EV chargers, vehicles, and the grid, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with international standards like ISO 15118 and OCPP.
By packaging EVerest as a snap, Canonical ensures that this solution can be quickly and securely deployed at scale. This approach not only simplifies the deployment process but also guarantees that the charging stations are always up-to-date with the latest security patches and features, providing a robust and future-proof solution for EV charging stations.
Extending Over-the-Air updates
Canonical’s commitment to contributing to the automotive industry’s software shift extends to vehicle maintenance and software management through our OTA update solution powered by the Snap Store. At IAA 2024, we will demonstrate how a dedicated Snap Store enables seamless updates of a vehicle’s electronic control units (ECUs), ensuring that all software components remain secure and up to date. This approach not only enhances vehicle performance but also reduces the need for physical maintenance, offering a more efficient and cost-effective solution for both automotive manufacturers and end-users.
